I was really happy to receive an email yesterday. Yes, I’m easily pleased!
But this wasn’t an email telling me an, until now, unknown uncle had died leaving me £10,000,000 in his Will, or an email asking me to enter my credit card details in order to reclaim an HMRC overpayment.
No, this email was from a real person (who I’ll call “R”), who actually reads some of the drivel I post on the Amateur Investor website. But by their own admission only “on those occasions when there is no real new news on offer elsewhere, the dog’s asleep, I’ve done all my mails and the gym can wait for half an hour.”
And it came all the way from China (“R” has a small factory in China and spends most of their year there).
“R” was emailing to say that they found the new Ex-Dividend Dates section of the Amateur Investor website useful. So I can now brag that the Amateur Investor has gone international and has a readership of at least 1 person other than myself!
Anyway, that’s it. Just wanted to stroke my own ego and thank “R” for taking the time to get in touch.
